Double A Paper Grants Sustainable Educational Fund to a Rural School in Thailand
Sing Buri, Thailand, 10 March 2014 – Double A paper hands over Mr. Suchart Umsupa, Director of Wat Chaksri Junior High School in Sing Buri, Thailand, the proceeds from the 200 mature paper trees planted in the school’s vicinity since 2010. Wat Chaksri is the first school in Double A’s ‘Paper Tree Planting Project’ to enjoy the income from selling paper trees. The proceeds will be used mainly to support and improve the quality of education and learning of its students. Big chunk will be allotted to educational materials while the rest will be used to construct the school’s vegetable garden, which will serve as a source of healthy food for the students and faculties alike. In addition, the recipient school also received books and school equipments for its library. Double A’s Paper Tree Planting Project, now on its 4th year, is a unique initiative that helps rural schools realize the real value of their unused resources. Every year, interested schools are encouraged to present their concrete plan for the proceeds from paper trees such as activities that truly contribute to sustainable educational development, and Double A selects 80 schools to join the project.
